This video features a crosswalk system installed at Flower and Walnut, in Santa Ana. High-visibility flashing LaneLights clearly indicate an active crosswalk location directly in the driver's line of sight.  This requires no interpretation--as opposed to blinkers, beacons, or signs, which need a moment of thought before breaks are applied.

This installation in Irvine features LED Enhanced School Sign, S1-1, including five LED clusters, with the in-pavement LaneLight System.
